The Mousehole Blogging Philosophy
Everyone who has a blog would do well to have a philosophy for it — whether it’s a single statement of narrow intent or several ideas to serve as a broad guide. The following ideas will, from this point onward, form the core of the philosophy of what I do with this site and the writing therein:
- I share when I’m ready to share and no earlier.
- I write about whatever interests my weird-as-hell brain, regardless of whether anyone else is interested.
- Positivity is preferable to negativity. Negativity demands you give in to hate; positivity asks you to give love a chance.
- My opinions are my own. I write to help craft those opinions so I don’t have to go borrowing someone else’s.
- My opinions are opinions. You’re free to disagree with them, but not with any facts that form those opinions.
- My opinions are likely not unique. So what?
- I don’t do drama. This isn’t TMZ and I’d prefer to not give a shit about Internet slapfights.
- Feel free to contact me to talk about what I write about. My inbox is open and my desperation for human contact is immeasurable.
